Ascot bet365 Handicap Chase Preview..

Hi Reader

A good Saturday of racing at Haydock and Ascot.

Haydock has passed its morning inspection with the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase and Grade 2 novices hurdle the feature races.

I found it difficult to see past the top three in the betting in the Peter Marsh who are short for a long distance chase. We turn out attention to Ascot's premier raceday card and specifically the bet365 Handicap Chase at 2:15.

Ok, let's crack on with today's preview and tips.

Horses for courses rule applies at Ascot

Ascot host their Clarence House meeting this afternoon.

Thank heavens Willie Mullins has sent over Energumene as else it would have been a calkwalk for Jonbon.

The Irish raider is 11 years old now and surely a little past his best. Jonbon should win if jumping well but no doubt Energumene will make a race of it which is what all racing fans want!

Martator loves it around Ascot with a 100% record of three wins from three runs.I’ve had a long look at this race and just think the low weights like Scarface, Kotmask and Flegmatik are vulnerable.

The 2m5f distance of this race is sure to suit Martator who was badly outpaced at Kempton over Christmas. Previously, he had won twice here over 2m1f in lesser races than that Grade 2 handicap at Kempton.

Ned Fox claims three pounds and rode Martator to win here in November. He will enjoy the easier ground, and so long has he settles well can show his class against his competition who blow hot and cold.

Ascot 2:15

1 point each way Martator 4/1 Bet365 & William Hill.

Best of Luck,

Nicky
