Classic ready for Coral Challenge

A field of seventeen runners line up for the Coral Challenge Handicap !

Richard Hannon runs Classic and River King. I am siding with Classic who loves it around Sandown and stays a strongly run mile well. Classic has returned better than ever this season with a win and second at Newbury. He cruised through a competitive mile handicap to beat Indalo and Ebt’s Guard at Newbury in May.

That race is working out very well with third placed, Mezcala winning at Royal Ascot. Indalo and Ebt’s Guard ran well to hit the frame in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. Classic was not far behind in ninth place having seen too much daylight. Pat Dobbs knows him well and from a good drawn in stall five he could bag another Sandown win.

Ebt’s Guard is tough and consistent with a good draw in stall four. He finished fourth behind Classic and Indalo at Newbury over a mile in May. As I mentioned above that race is working out great and is strong mile handicap form. Ebt’s Guard is five pounds better off against Classic and Indalo on their meeting at Newbury.

Ebt's Guard has won on the round course at Ascot over a mile so should enjoy the stiff finish and turn at Sandown. Hopefully, he will jump well and grab the rail once turning into the finishing straight.
